Do you want to share your digital photographs or make them available for friends and family to see? Then look for a photo sharing site such as Flickr www.flickr.com or Fotothing www.fotothing.com .
Do you want to swap brief notes and pictures about what you're doing from day to day and see the same from your friends and family? In which case you might consider Twitter www.twitter.com or FaceBook www.facebook.com - find out which your family and friends are using and join in!
As for the question "how" to do post things, there are plenty of inctructions in each of these sites to help you get set up and started. Just read their introduction pages and jump in and try it. Remember, you can't "break" anything by having a go!
